| Please complete all parts of the enclosed membership form and return it with your '01 dues as soon as possible. We are up-dating the club data base. |
| The VHFC dues for 2001 are $35.00; the same as in 2000 and 1999. |
| Please complete, print, and mail in the Application Form and your $35 membership dues. |
October's President’s Message
Our club is starting the year 2001 in excellent shape:
| We have a fully staffed set of Officers. On March 23rd, the Board met and unanimously voted for Dave Taylor to be our 2001 Second Vice President. (Dave had answered my urgent call for volunteers late last summer.) |
| We are financially in good shape; coming out of 2000 with $276 more than we started with. |
| We have a lot of continuity: No change in dues, species of the month, meeting dates, times, locations or newsletters. |
| The new VHFC lending library will be started. |
| At least 6 Monthly Membership Meetings will be held on the 2nd Friday starting in April through September (and possibly 1 in October). |
| We are carefully planning at least 3 hands-on Membership Meetings where the members get to make rigs or work on their fishing gear & skills. |
| We will have at least 3 Membership Meetings with guest speakers. |
| Tournaments and club fishing events will closely resemble those we had in 2000. |
2000 Final Weigh-in Report (by George Fruh)
One big fish has been added since our October 2000 newsletter: a 44 pound 8 ounce Striper. Congratulations to Ron Roshelli. A great way to end the year. The final weigh-in standings for 2000 are:

3rd Annual VHFC Holiday Weakfish Tournament and Social, Saturday May 26, 2001
| Maurice Piergrossi is chairing this tournament and hosting the social at his home. |
| For those of you who have never participated, I want to assure you that the social alone is worth the entry fee. |
| Last year we had only 17 participants. |
| If you try this one you will like it. |

| We plan to continue updating the site on a regular basis to keep up with our own tournaments, events and weigh-ins, to provide current information on fisheries management and any other relevant fishing information we can get (with your help). |
| So far, with the exception of the monthly newsletters last year, the new content for the web site was gathered or authored by only one man. We would like the web site to become a communications center for the club; providing timely announcements and information. |
| We made some good progress on the site last year, hopefully everyone has something they can contribute to the site this year. |
| So, check it out and send us your suggestions and ideas... |
